Introduced in July 2026, this highly anticipated enhancement expands InstaDocs’ drag-and-drop capabilities by allowing users to drag email attachments directly from Microsoft Outlook into an InstaDocs tab. Entire emails can also be dropped into InstaDocs and are automatically saved as .msg files, providing a fast and seamless way to preserve important communications with your Sage 100 records.
Auto Tagging saves time by automatically associating documents with the appropriate Sage 100 record as they’re added.
For example, if you’re working in Sales Order Invoice Data Entry and attach a document to Invoice #1234567, InstaDocs automatically tags that document with the invoice number. This makes searching, reporting, and retrieving documents significantly easier.
Recent enhancements have expanded this functionality even further:
- Documents added to Sales Order Invoices can now automatically tag the associated Sales Order.
- Documents added during Purchase Order Receipt of Goods can automatically tag the related Purchase Order.
- The new CIDM Lot/Serial InstaDocs module automatically tags documents by Lot or Serial Number, making inventory documentation easier to organize and retrieve.
InstaDocs integrates directly with Sage 100 Paperless Office, allowing businesses to include supporting documentation with electronically delivered orders and invoices.
For example, product specifications, warranty information, certifications, or installation instructions can all be attached directly to a customer’s order without creating separate emails.
New enhancements make this process even more flexible:
- Reserved Word Tags let you designate exactly which documents should be included with electronic deliveries.
- Auto Include IMDM/CIDM Attachments automatically includes related inventory item or Lot/Serial documents when sending invoices or sales orders.

It is available during both Sales Order Invoice Printing and Invoice History Printing, with customer-level settings that allow businesses to determine which customers receive consolidated emails.
Finding documents is now easier than ever. Recent enhancements include:
- Enhanced Super Search, which now searches document file names even when documents have not been tagged.
- The ability to rename documents directly from the InstaDocs panel, making files easier to identify without leaving Sage 100.
- Optional General Ledger subdirectories that automatically organize documents by Source Journal and Entry Number for improved filing and retrieval.

The addition of PMDM Production Management InstaDocs extends document management into Work Ticket Entry, Work Ticket Transaction Entry, and Work Ticket History Inquiry.
Documents are stored by Work Ticket, and printed Work Tickets can automatically be saved as PDFs within the InstaDocs folder, giving manufacturers centralized access to production documentation.
Released in July 2026, this highly anticipated enhancement allows for documents to be stored by Bill of Material, or by Bill of Material plus Revision Number. The addition of BMDM Bill of Materials InstaDocs extends document management into Production Entry and Disassembly Entry.
For businesses using warehouse management solutions, InstaDocs now integrates with Scanco and ScanForce Image Capturing.
Users can capture photos of inventory items during Purchase Order or Sales Order processing, and the images are automatically stored within InstaDocs alongside the appropriate Sage 100 records. This creates a valuable visual record for receiving, shipping, quality control, and inventory management.
