Integrate your Sage HCM Payroll with Sage 100

Big changes are underway in the world of HR and payroll. Sage has officially acquired Criterion HCM—formerly known simply as Criterion—in a landmark move announced on October 6, 2025. This acquisition represents far more than a new logo or a product swap; it signals Sage’s bold commitment to delivering a unified, modern, people‑focused Human Capital Management experience.
And the transformation doesn’t stop there. By April 2026, Criterion will be fully rebranded as Sage HCM, cementing its place within Sage’s growing ecosystem and ushering in a new era of seamless HR, payroll, and finance connectivity.
For Sage 100 customers, DSD has long supported this evolution with two trusted integrations that bridge Sage (formerly Criterion) HCM directly to Sage 100: GLCR Criterion Integration and PRCR Criterion Integration. These integrations already eliminate duplicate data entry and keep systems aligned—and now, they’re more valuable than ever.
With DSD’s Sage HCM Integration enhancements for Sage 100, you can simplify that process through seamless, automated data synchronization. Built using a modern REST API, this integration keeps your employee records accurate, consistent, and always up to date.
GLCR Criterion Integration
The GLCR Criterion Integration connects Sage HCM and Sage 100 General Ledger to synchronize your Payroll entries into Sage 100 General Ledger.
- General Ledger Journal Entries are imported into Sage 100 from GL Entries created in Criterion from Payroll batches.
- A new ‘Criterion Import to GJ Entry’ menu item has been added to General Ledger that allows for download of Payroll / General Ledger Entries from Criterion into Sage 100 General Journal Entry. A Log File is created that shows what data was imported.
PRCR Criterion Integration
The PRCR Criterion Integration connects Sage HCM and Sage 100 Payroll to synchronize your key employee demographic and address information. Instead of re-entering or manually updating records, this enhancement ensures your systems stay aligned. Employee data flows from Sage HCM to Sage 100, including:
- First, middle, and last name
- Full address
- Home and mobile phone
- Email address
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Marital Status
- Ethnicity
- Military status
- Deduction code (optional)
- Automatically generated Criterion ID
Employee data can be synchronized in Sage 100 using any of these convenient methods:
1. Criterion Button in Employee Maintenance
A new Criterion button appears on the Main tab in Employee Maintenance when a Social Security Number is present.
- For new employees: Enter the Employee Number and Social Security Number, then click the button to instantly pull all matching data from Criterion.
- For existing employees: The button remains available as long as an SSN is on file.
Once synchronized, these fields become view-only in Sage 100—ensuring Criterion remains the single source of truth.
2. Criterion Employee Synchronization Utility
Found in the Payroll Utilities menu, this utility allows batch updates using selectable ranges:
- Employee Number
- Last Name
- Employee Sort Field
All employees matching the criteria—and already linked to Criterion—are automatically refreshed with the latest information from the Criterion portal.
3. Automated Prompt During General Ledger Tax Calculation
When processing Payroll, Sage 100 identifies employees linked to Criterion and prompts you to synchronize them.
If changes are found, the system updates the records and offers to print a Criterion Employee Synchronization Report, similar to the General Ledger Employee Audit Report, so you can easily review what changed.
Which DSD Integration is best use?
- If you have the Payroll module installed in Sage 100, the PRCR Criterion Integration is best, as it allows synchronization of key employee demographic and address information. In Sage 100 Payroll.
- If you do NOT have the Payroll module installed in Sage 100, the GLCR Criterion Integration allows you to download the General Ledger postings that are created in Sage HCM from Payroll Batches, allowing financials to be up-to-date in Sage 100.
