SAN DIEGO, CA - December 14, 2009 – DSD Business Systems, a San Diego provider of Deltek and Sage enterprise software solutions, proudly announces that it was honored Tuesday as a Finalist in the Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics by the San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB). Each year the BBB honors local companies that demonstrate superior commitment to exceptional standards that benefit their customers, employees, vendors, shareholders and surrounding communities. Companies are judged in four areas of consideration:

  • Management Practices
  • Community / Investor / Stakeholder Relations
  • Communications and Marketing Practices
  • Industry Reputation

"Consumers want to do business with ethical companies and our Torch Awards is one way to identify companies that maintain a competitive advantage by adhering to BBB ethical standards," said Sheryl Bilbrey, BBB president and chief executive officer. DSD Business Systems received an overall score of nearly 92% for its commitment to superior, ethical business standards.

"We are extremely pleased to be recognized by the San Diego Better Business Bureau for our commitment to ethical business standards," said Doug Deane, president of DSD Business Systems. "We are proud to be in the great company of some of San Diego's finest businesses. This honor is not a responsibility that we take lightly. It makes us strive daily for continuous improvement in our company. The way in which we treat our customers, our partners, our vendors, our staff, our community and the Earth is the cornerstone of our company's values.  It's a great honor to be recognized for these qualities, and we applaud the BBB for lighting the way for all of us."

The San Diego Better Business Bureau presented its 12th annual Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics during a noon luncheon December 8th at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center in Mission Valley. The program honored companies that demonstrate ethical business practices.

The luncheon's keynote speaker was Holly Petraeus, director of the bureau's Military Line program. Petraeus' husband is Army General, David Petraeus, Commander of U.S. Central Command.
