The filing of quarterly wage reports on magnetic media
is mandated by Rule 309 of the Louisiana Employment Security Law for all employers who report 250 or more employees in any calendar quarter. The Louisiana Magnetic Media Reporting modifications for Sage MAS 90 Magnetic Media allows
the user to: Generate magnetic media compliant with the Magnetic Media Information as required by the State of Louisiana. This report includes the following data:
- Employee Name
- Social Security Number
- Employer Account Number (EIN)
- Reporting Period
- State Quarter Wages Subject to Unemployment Insurance
Generate a Magnetic Media summary report, after the creation of the magnetic media file, that reports the information needed to complete the Magnetic Media Transmittal form that must be submitted with the magnetic media.

Pursuant to HOUSE BILL NO. 957, rounding of employee wages and total
wages shall be effective for the 3rd quarter (July September 2001) tax and
wage reporting period due October 31, 2001. The wages of each employee
reported by an employer on the Employer's Wage Report (line 10 of paper
report or position 203-213 of Magnetic Media Record Description, Section III
(F)), if not an even dollar amount, shall be rounded to the nearest dollar
amount (up or down - i.e., $1081.49 shall be rounded to $1081, and $1081.50
shall be rounded to $1082). Therefore, any amount of total wages for all
employees reported on the Quarterly Report of Wages Paid (line 8) shall be
an even dollar amount.
