Doug Deane - President & CEO

Doug Deane, P.E., is the founder, President and CEO of DSD Business Systems. Doug manages the overall strategic direction of the company and participates in day to day operations ensuring an ongoing commitment to excellence in performance, technical expertise and participation in the community.

Doug's unique brand of management manifests itself in this commitment to excellence. A founding member of the ITA (Information Technology Alliance), Doug was also among the first Authorized Resellers of Sage MAS 90, one of the first Master Developers and participated in Sage's first BPAC (Business Partner Advisory Council) meeting for MAS90. Doug is a past Co-Chair of the ITA's Marketing Committee, he is a past Vice-Chair and current board member of the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, he has been the Chair or Co-Chair of the Chamber's Business Education Committee on and off for the past two decades, and currently serves as the Chair of the Grossmont Union High School District's Boundary Committee.

Since founding DSD Business Systems in 1984, Doug has been recognized many times by Sage, most recently receiving the first Sage Community Service Award for 2009. He was also awarded the Leadership Award by San Diego's KGTV Channel 10. Moreover, Doug has been recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal, and his Ethics in Business Program was awarded the California Foundation for Commerce and Education Award by the California Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Doug was the 2008 recipient of the Wendell R. Cutting Business Ethics Award presented by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce in 2009, he received the C. Allen Paul Award for Excellence in Education in 2001, and on behalf of DSD, accepted the Better Business Bureau's Torch Award in 2010.

Of all his accomplishments, Doug is most proud of the fact that the majority of key staff have been with DSD for more than ten years, and more than half of DSD's staff has served the company for more than five years.

Doug graduated from Cornell University in 1979 with a Mechanical Engineering degree and went on to earn his Professional Engineering license in 1981.
