President Receives Ethics in Business Award
SAN DIEGO, CA - March 15, 2009 - DSD Business Systems is pleased to announce that its President, Doug Deane, is the recipient of the 2009 Wendell R. Cutting Business Ethics Award from the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce. Every year, the Chamber recognizes one business or individual who meets these criteria:
- Has an established corporate code of ethics, credo, code of conduct or a written philosophy that communicates the Chamber's requirement and expectation for honesty, integrity and compliance with the law in all business dealings.
- Demonstrates evidence of how ethics are a living part of the individual's philosophy, culture and everyday business operations.
- Has a clearly articulated means by which ethical questions, problems or conflicts are brought to the attention of management and a mechanism that ensures the fair and consistent treatment of all parties involved.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to maintaining a work environment that is safe and free from harassing or discriminatory behavior in its hiring, promotion and daily business practices.

Doug Deane, President of DSD Business Systems, said, "I am particularly honored to receive this award named after Wendell Cutting, who was a mentor and role model to many of us in San Diego."
Wendell Riley Cutting was an East County icon who served as teacher, principal, college trustee, mayor, international relief aid figure, humanitarian, civic activist and Chief of Staff to United States Congressman Duncan Hunter. The Wendell Cutting Business Ethics Award was founded in 2007 by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce and is named in honor of one of the most admired and beloved figures in East County history.
