Small Business Sends an Important Message Regarding Disabilities to the Community
San Diego, CA - January 15, 2008 - DSD Business Systems is pleased to announce the recent major purchase and permanent installation of art in its offices in University Towne Center as part of its partnership with Sophie’s Gallery in El Cajon.
Sophie’s Gallery Administrator, Wendy Morris said of the purchase, "When DSD purchased multiple paintings, charcoals and mono-prints for their offices in San Diego they chose to send an important message to their clients and business partners, that persons with developmental disabilities have excellent talents and abilities to share. As a Partner-in-Art DSD helped launch the New Year at Sophie's Art Gallery with a bang! Life is too short for anything less than excellence, which is the tag line for DSD Business Systems, says a lot about their business philosophy and their philosophy of life.”
DSD's President, Doug Deane, added, "I am so pleased to be able to display these beautiful pieces from Sophie's Art Gallery at our corporate office in University Towne Center. Although DSD takes great pleasure in being able to support the important work being done by St. Madeleine Sophie's Center that is not the only reason for our recent purchase. These pieces stand on their own as significant works of art. I acquired these pieces because of their beauty, because I expect them to appreciate in value over the years like any piece of fine art, and because I want our staff and our visitors to be able to enjoy them as much as I do. For strictly selfish reasons, I hope that Sophie's Art Gallery remains the best kept secret in fine art in San Diego County."
Sophie’s is a program of St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center, serving adults with developmental disabilities. Sophie’s Gallery and Gift Shop, 109 Rea Avenue, El Cajon, is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday–Friday. Art classes are available the First Friday and First Saturday of each month.
